We spent over £2000 on two doors. Having arranged an installation date and booked the day off of work, softview rang to cancel as the doors had not arrived. Two weeks later the front door was fitted and the quality of the product was awful, it had black paint painted over a deep gauge, rough edges, drill holes on show and a large splinted edge on the top of the door. My partner then checked the condition on the back door, only to find it had the same scratches and so refused to have it fitted and sent it back.
On Monday morning, we expected a phone call from softview to offer some sort of an apology and a way on how we could rectify the situation. There was no such phone call and so WE had to ring them, only to be told that we must be slightly over exaggerating and advised us to ring their manufacture who in turn made us out to be liars.
Insisting to them that we were not lying or over exaggerating, they arranged for someone to come out in a weeks time to inspect the door. On the day, a salesman arrived from softview and inspected the door and actually agreed that the door was not great, with the guy from the manufactures agreeing that the door was the worse he had seen, that it should have never left the factory in the first place and that it had been fitted incorrectly. They agreed to replace the door.
A few weeks passed and it took US to ring them constantly for updates on when the door was going to be fitted and that the back door was in the warehouse ready to be fitted. We arranged a new date for installation and agreed that we would inspect both doors on arrival before fitting. The new front door was a vast improvement but still had visible marks and the back door they said they had delivered in the warehouse, was in fact the original door we had sent back (they must think we are stupid).
Softview failed to call us and it took US ringing them once again, in which we arranged a time to go to their showroom and point out the damage. Softview admitted that the back door they had resent, was in fact the previous door and that because they didnt think they could provide us with the quality we expected for our money, that they would rather not fit the back door. They advised us that they could give us a full refund so we could get a different company to fit both new doors and once complete give them a ring them so they could pick up their door OR we could take the newly arrived but still damaged door for a reduced price.
To add insult to a poor product and poor customer service (I cant decide which is worse) we get I hope you are happy with our service and recommend a friend cash back vouchers through the post, as well as telesales calling us twice in two weeks asking if we are happy with their service. When will they get the hint that NO WE ARE NOT HAPPY AND THAT WE WILL CERTAINTLY NOT BE RECOMMENDING YOU TO ANYONE !!!!!
